GAME

You are a merchant in 1469 in Medieval Brittania. You have been inherited debt by your late father and now owe the Crown, 1000 gold. Thou Art Broke! With little notice, the King has called for your arrest within 15 days. You can now only turn back to the only skill you know and trade various items in the market. Buy low, sell high, Pay your debt or face the consequences!

Note: This is a submission to Jerbob's Silly Game Jam which have a 2 days/48 hours development time period. It's also meant to be silly! So I used MS Paint for art. If you'd like to see more, would appreciate your feedback!

ADDITIONAL

This is my first ever game and game jam submission to Jerbob's Silly Jam! The overall silliness of this jam really resonated with me especially with low pressure to submit anything. And I got an idea that I had to just implement immediately with the theme "Go to town" and taking it literally by going from town to town. So I sat down one night and just started going at it, learnt a lot and now ready and excited for future games too! Thanks Jerbob for hosting this game jam!

ADDITIONAL ADDITIONAL

In this game I'm testing out whether a trading rougelite could be fun. I was inspired by Mount & Blade trading system (My builds were usually trading & making enterprises until I had too much money) and Rimworld Trading System. I made this also as a proof of concept and will be the "main mechanic/game loop", I want to know whether many people find trading as a mechanic fun, and how many people would actually see this turn into a full release.  Would love some feedback! Additional content to make this fully fleshed out would be: random encounters, RPG-like elements (stats, upgrades, inventory management), simulated market (current one is random), mapping/exploration of trading routes (create your own) and merchant guild (send out your own merchants).

Fantastic use of the "go to town town" theme

While it was pretty easy, just buy low sell high lol
It was still very fun

I think an expantion on this theme could work very well!
